Nyamira West Field Concludes Successful First Week of 2026 Camp Meetings

Strong Attendance, Inspiring Messages, and Generous Community Support Mark the Opening Week

NYAMIRA, KENYA – August 2, 2026 — Nyamira West Field (NWF) has successfully concluded the first week of its 2026 Camp Meetings, with 23 camp meeting centres conducting spiritually enriching programs under the theme "Obey and Live or Disobey and Perish: The Choice Is Yours," based on Isaiah 1:19–20.

The first week was characterized by a peaceful atmosphere, favourable weather, and smooth coordination across all camp centres. The Field experienced no major operational challenges, allowing worshippers to focus fully on spiritual renewal, Bible study, and fellowship.

The camp meetings benefited from a team of sufficient and competent speakers who faithfully presented God's Word. Congregants responded positively to the messages, many expressing renewed commitment to Christ through their active participation in worship and generous freewill offerings. In many centres, members demonstrated gratitude to God by bringing farm produce as offerings, reflecting the agricultural richness and spirit of thanksgiving within the region.

The camp meetings also received overwhelming support from well-wishers who donated food items such as eggs, milk, rice, and other supplies, alongside monetary contributions that helped facilitate the smooth running of the programs.

Field leaders visited several camp meeting centres during the week to encourage members and assess the progress of the

evangelistic meetings.

Pr. Thomas Nyakundi, President of Nyamira West Field, expressed gratitude for the successful organization of the first week of camp meetings. He commended the dedication of pastors, elders, departmental leaders, camp committees, volunteers, and all church members who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the programs. He also sincerely appreciated the generosity of well-wishers whose support greatly contributed to the welfare of campers.

While visiting various centres, Pr. Zablon Nyanumba, Executive Secretary of Nyamira West Field, encouraged pastors and local church elders to continue nurturing the newly won souls beyond the camp meeting season. He emphasized that true evangelistic success is measured not only by decisions made during the meetings but also by sustained discipleship and spiritual growth after the meetings conclude.

The Camp Meeting Coordinator, Pr. John Saota, applauded the excellent coordination witnessed from the local camp centres to the Field office. He thanked all committees for maintaining effective communication and implementing the camp program as planned. As preparations shift to the second week, he expressed confidence that the same spirit of cooperation and commitment would continue across the remaining centres.

Attention now turns to the second week, during which 59 camp meeting centres are expected to conduct their programs, significantly expanding the reach of the annual evangelistic initiative.

The Communication Director, Pr. Stephen Okero, applauded communication leaders serving across the Field for their outstanding ministry in publicizing the camp meetings. He noted that through posters, live streaming, photography, videography, and timely reports, communication teams have effectively shared the impact of the camp meetings with both church members and the wider community. He encouraged them to remain committed to telling the stories of God's work and keeping the Church and the world informed about how the Seventh-day Adventist Church continues to advance the gospel mission.

Attendance throughout the first week remained encouraging, with worshippers turning up in good numbers across the camp centres. One notable challenge, however, was the relatively low participation of children because most schools had not yet closed for the August recess. Despite their limited numbers, the children who attended actively participated in worship and presented inspiring items that greatly blessed the congregations.

With a successful first week behind them, Nyamira West Field looks forward to an even greater harvest of souls during the second week as members continue proclaiming the everlasting gospel under the inspiring theme: "Obey and Live or Disobey and Perish: The Choice Is Yours."
