“OneVoice27 is not a program or a project; it is an evangelistic lifestyle” — Pr. Dr. Thomas Nyakundi
NYAMIRA, KENYA — September 5, 2026:
A massive gathering of Seventh-day Adventists from across Nyamira West Field (NWF) converged at the Field Headquarters on September 5, 2026, for the official launch of OneVoice27, turning the occasion into a vibrant celebration of mission, digital evangelism, music, youth involvement, and renewed commitment to proclaiming Jesus Christ to the world.
The launch, led by Pr. Dr. Thomas Nyakundi, President of Nyamira West Field, brought together youth representatives, children, pastors, elders, church members, choirs, musicians, digital content creators, and communication teams from local churches across the Field.
The atmosphere was characterized by colorful branded T-shirts, posters and flags carrying the messages OneVoice27, Mission for All, and All Things New: Hope Starts Here.
The event demonstrated that the initiative had moved beyond a leadership announcement and had become a movement embraced at the grassroots level.
A GRAND PROCESSION LED BY YOUNG PEOPLE AND PATHFINDERS
One of the highlights of the launch was the procession led by Pathfinders and their brass band. The young people marched with energy and enthusiasm, displaying their commitment to
The Nyambaria Boys Brass Band added a special dimension to the occasion, leading the procession with skillful performances on their musical instruments. Their energetic presentation attracted attention and created an atmosphere of celebration even before the main program began.
Church choirs were also fully involved. Their musical presentations added color, worship, and spiritual depth to the launch as they used their voices to proclaim the message of Christ.
The participation of children was equally significant. Through the Children’s Ministries department, young believers were given an opportunity to see themselves as participants in the mission of the church rather than merely spectators. Nancy Aggrey, a Children’s Ministries teacher from Victory Church, expressed her appreciation for the inclusion of children in the mission.
She noted that involving children helps them understand from an early age that they too have a role to play in sharing God's message.
“The inclusion of children in this mission is encouraging. They are not only the church of tomorrow; they are part of the mission of the church today,” she said.
YOUTH AT THE CENTER OF DIGITAL EVANGELISM
The deliberate involvement of young people was one of the most significant features of the launch. Youth representatives came from local churches wearing branded T-shirts and carrying posters and flags, demonstrating their readiness to become ambassadors of the gospel in the digital space. The youth were selected because of their familiarity with digital technology and social-media platforms.
For many of them, smartphones, cameras, computers, social-media platforms, and other digital tools are already part of their everyday lives. The launch therefore challenged them to move from being ordinary users of technology to becoming missionaries in the digital world.
The initiative also helped many church members understand, perhaps for the first time, that digital gadgets can be powerful instruments for evangelism. Rather than viewing a mobile phone merely as a device for communication, entertainment, or social interaction, members were challenged to see it as a potential missionary tool.
During the launch, young people created simple digital content carrying powerful spiritual messages. They shared the content with family members, friends, and wider audiences through various digital platforms. The simplicity of the content did not diminish its potential impact.
The underlying message was clear: Every believer can use what they already have to share the gospel.
A smartphone can become a mission field.
A social-media account can become an evangelistic platform.
A short video can carry a message of hope.
A simple testimony can touch a life.
UNDERSTANDING THE BACKGROUND OF ONEVOICE27
Giving the background of the initiative, Pr. Zablon Nyanumba, Executive Secretary of Nyamira West Field, explained the significance of OneVoice27 and its connection to the ministry of Jesus Christ. He reminded the congregation that the initiative is designed around the commemoration of approximately 2,000 years since Jesus' baptism and the beginning of His public earthly ministry. The initiative therefore calls believers to look again at the ministry of Jesus and emulate His commitment to proclaiming God's kingdom.
The Executive Secretary emphasized that the mission is not simply about commemorating a historical milestone but about allowing the life and ministry of Christ to inspire the church's mission today. His presentation helped the congregation understand that OneVoice27 is ultimately about Christ, His mission, and the proclamation of the gospel.
“ONE VOICE IN A NOISY WORLD”
The main sermon was delivered by Pr. Dr. Thomas Nyakundi, President of Nyamira West Field. Speaking under the theme “One Voice in a Noisy World,” the Field President based his message on Revelation 14:6–7, drawing attention to the heavenly message that must reach every nation, tribe, language, and people. He challenged believers to listen carefully to the voice from heaven amid the many competing voices in today's world.
The world, he observed, is increasingly filled with voices competing for human attention. In such an environment, the church must be united around the one voice that matters most—the voice calling humanity back to God. The President emphasized that the heavenly message should unify believers as they go out to tell the world about Jesus.
“OneVoice27 is not a program or a project”
One of the most memorable declarations of the day came when Pr. Dr. Nyakundi clarified the identity of OneVoice27.
“OneVoice27 is not a program and it is not a project that will come to an end. It is an evangelistic lifestyle that we must live by and adopt.”
The statement challenged members to view the initiative beyond a launch event or a temporary church activity. Rather, it should become part of the daily life of every believer. The message was particularly relevant to the youth, who were challenged to make evangelism part of their everyday digital activities.
DIGITAL EVANGELISM COMPLEMENTS TRADITIONAL EVANGELISM
The importance of digital evangelism was further emphasized by Pr. Dr. Davis Saisi, NWF Evangelism Director. He cautioned against viewing digital evangelism as a replacement for traditional evangelistic methods.
“Digital evangelism does not replace the traditional method; it complements it.”
His observation highlighted the need for the church to embrace both traditional and emerging methods of gospel proclamation. Public evangelistic meetings, personal Bible studies, visitation, literature distribution, small groups, music ministry, health evangelism, and other established methods remain important. At the same time, digital platforms provide additional opportunities to reach people who may never enter a church building or attend a traditional evangelistic meeting.
THE YOUTH RESPOND
Daniel Nyangena, NWF Youth Leader, applauded the initiative and encouraged young people to take their rightful place in the mission of the church. He challenged the youth not to remain consumers of digital content but to become creators and distributors of gospel-centered content.
The launch provided a practical demonstration of this vision as young people used their phones and other digital devices to capture, create, and share messages from the event. The emphasis was not on sophisticated equipment but on availability, creativity, consistency, and a willingness to be used by God.
LOCAL CHURCHES JOIN THE LAUNCH
The launch was not confined to the Field Headquarters. Pastors and elders also led launches in their respective local churches. Churches used virtually every available means to introduce the initiative to their congregations and communities. The creativity displayed at local-church level was particularly impressive.
Some churches used computer-generated designs and professionally prepared materials, while others relied on simple handwritten posters and locally produced displays. Despite differences in resources, the message remained the same.
Every church can participate.
The simplicity of the presentations became a testimony that the initiative had been understood and embraced at the grassroots level. From professionally designed materials to handwritten messages, the churches demonstrated that evangelism does not depend entirely on expensive resources. What matters is the willingness to participate in the mission.
HOPE CHANNEL KENYA DOCUMENTS THE HISTORIC MOMENT
The Hope Channel Kenya team was also present to document the launch. The media team demonstrated professionalism and expertise as they recorded the proceedings, captured photographs, interviewed leaders and church members, and collected testimonies from participants.
Their presence highlighted the importance of professional media production in preserving and amplifying the church's evangelistic activities. The recorded material will also provide opportunities for the message of the launch to travel beyond those who were physically present at the Field Headquarters. In this way, the media team became part of the evangelistic mission itself.
A MOMENT OF DEDICATION
The launch reached one of its spiritual high points during the dedicatory prayers for digital evangelists and their digital gadgets. Phones, cameras, computers, and other devices were symbolically dedicated to God's service. The prayer represented more than a dedication of equipment. It was a commitment to surrender technology to the mission of Christ.
The message was simple: What we have can become an instrument for what God wants to accomplish.
FROM ONEVOICE27 TO “ALL THINGS NEW: HOPE STARTS HERE”
The climax of the day's spiritual emphasis came through the President's appeal centered on “All Things New: Hope Starts Here.” Pr. Dr. Nyakundi called on members to make a fresh commitment to Jesus Christ and to experience the newness that comes through Him. A good number of people responded to the appeal, giving themselves to Christ and pledging to begin again with the hope found in Jesus. The moment provided a powerful transition in the emphasis of the day.
OneVoice27 serves as the clarion call for the church to unite in proclaiming the gospel. But the message being proclaimed is ultimately about hope in Jesus Christ. The movement therefore points toward a world desperately searching for hope.
A world facing fear needs hope.
A world facing brokenness needs hope.
A world facing uncertainty needs hope.
A world struggling with sin needs salvation.
And the church has a message
ALL THINGS NEW — HOPE STARTS HERE.
The hope is not found in technology. It is not found in human achievements. It is not found in social media. Hope is found in Jesus Christ.
A NEW CHAPTER OF EVANGELISM
The OneVoice27 launch at Nyamira West Field has opened what church leaders describe as a new chapter in evangelistic engagement. The Field has demonstrated that young people, children, pastors, elders, choirs, Pathfinders, communication teams, and ordinary church members can work together in proclaiming the gospel.
The launch also demonstrated that evangelism can be both simple and powerful.
A handwritten poster can carry a life-changing message.
A child can sing about Jesus.
A Pathfinder can march for Christ.
A choir can proclaim hope through music.
A young person can record a 30-second video.
A church member can share a testimony on WhatsApp.
A pastor can preach the Word.
A digital evangelist can reach someone thousands of kilometres away.
Together, these seemingly small efforts can become one powerful voice.
THE MISSION CONTINUES
As the celebration at the Field Headquarters came to an end, the mission itself was only beginning. The OneVoice27 launch has challenged every member of Nyamira West Field to become a messenger of hope.
The call is no longer simply to attend church. It is to go and tell.
The call is no longer simply to consume information. It is to create and share.
The call is no longer simply to watch evangelism. It is to participate in evangelism.
And the call is not temporary. It is a lifestyle.
From Nyamira West Field to the wider world, the message is clear:
“One Voice in a Noisy World.”
And the message carried by that voice is even clearer:
ALL THINGS NEW — HOPE STARTS HERE.
Jesus is the message.
Salvation is the good news.
The world is the mission field.
And every believer is a messenger.
