Nyamira West Field Trains More Than 100 Young Content Creators for Digital Evangelism
Nyamira West Field (NWF) strengthened its digital evangelism efforts on 1 September 2026 by training more than 100 young people in content creation and the use of digital platforms to advance the gospel.
The content creators’ training was held at the Nyamira West Field Headquarters and brought together more than 100 young people passionate about using digital media to communicate the gospel and promote the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
The content creators’ training was organized by the NWF Communication Director, Pr. Stephen Onyari Okero, in conjunction with the East Kenya Union Conference (EKUC) Communication Director, Dr. Catherine Ontita. The training brought together young people passionate about using digital media to communicate the gospel and promote the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The training was conducted by digital evangelism experts Mark and Samuel Kombe from EKUC, who equipped participants with practical skills for effective digital ministry.
Focus on Generation LightMode
A major focus of the training was the registration and participation of young people in Generation LightMode, a digital initiative designed to engage the younger generation in Christian mission and online ministry.
Participants were guided through the registration process, including creating accounts, verifying their accounts where necessary, signing in, and completing their profiles.

Beyond registration, the young content creators were trained on how to develop personal and group content suitable for various digital platforms. The trainers emphasized the importance of producing creative, relevant and Christ-centered content that can reach people beyond the physical walls of the church.
Making Christianity Visible in the Digital Space
The trainers challenged participants to use social media and other digital platforms intentionally to make Christianity, Adventism and the message of Jesus Christ more visible to the world.
They emphasized that the digital space has become an important mission field where young people can share their faith, tell positive stories, educate others and introduce people to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Participants were encouraged to move beyond simply consuming online content and become active creators of gospel-centered content.
NWF President Officially Opens the Training
The training was officially opened by Pr. Dr. Thomas Nyakundi, President of Nyamira West Field.
In his opening remarks, he encouraged the young people to recognize their responsibility in using modern communication technologies for the advancement of God's work. The training provided an opportunity for the Field to invest in young people and equip them with skills relevant to contemporary evangelism.
Content Creators Challenged to Champion OneVoice27
The young content creators were also encouraged to become ambassadors of OneVoice27 within their local churches.
They were urged to educate church members about OneVoice27, its purpose and its call for believers to unite in proclaiming the gospel through digital and local outreach.
The participants were particularly reminded about the official OneVoice27 launch at the local church level on 5 September 2026 and encouraged to use their digital skills to create awareness and mobilize their churches for participation.
A New Generation of Digital Missionaries
The training marks another step in Nyamira West Field's efforts to equip young people for ministry in an increasingly digital world. With more than 100 young people trained, the Field expects the participants to take the skills acquired back to their local churches and use them to create meaningful, Christ-centered digital content.
The initiative demonstrates that digital evangelism is not merely about technology—it is about using technology to tell the story of Jesus, connect with people and advance the gospel.
As the digital mission continues to grow, Nyamira West Field is positioning its young people to become voices of hope, faith and the gospel in the digital world.
