Nyamira West Field Treasurer Commends Members for Faithful Stewardship Ahead of Camp Meeting

Kemera, Nyamira County – The Nyamira West Field Treasurer, Sister Faith Omwenga, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to church members across the field for their continued faithfulness in supporting God's mission through the faithful return of tithes and the giving of offerings.

Speaking ahead of the 2026 camp meeting season, Sister Faith commended members for their commitment to biblical stewardship, noting that their generosity has enabled the church to advance its gospel mission and support various ministries throughout the field.

She extended special appreciation to local church treasurers, recognizing their dedication and integrity in serving as custodians of God's resources.

"Your faithful service in safeguarding and managing the Lord's funds is a sacred responsibility that greatly contributes to the growth and mission of the church," she said.

The Treasurer also acknowledged the invaluable role played by district pastors, thanking them for coordinating stewardship initiatives, mobilizing members, and encouraging faithful financial support for the work of God.

Drawing inspiration from 1 Corinthians 4:1–2, "Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful," Sister Faith reminded all church members entrusted with God's resources to remain faithful stewards in every aspect of their financial commitment.

She called for

closer cooperation among local church elders, church treasurers, and district pastors to ensure that all trust funds are remitted promptly and faithfully in accordance with the policies and financial guidelines of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Reinforcing the biblical call to faithful stewardship, Sister Faith echoed the counsel of Ellen G. White, who wrote:

"God desires all His stewards to be exact in following divine arrangements. They are not to offset the Lord's plans by performing some deed of charity or giving some gift or offering when or how they, the human agents, shall see fit. It is a very poor policy for men to seek to improve on God's plan."Ellen G. White, Counsels on Stewardship, p. 81.

Emphasizing the importance of accountability and transparency, she encouraged church leaders to ensure that every offering entrusted to the church is carefully accounted for and utilized strictly according to the intentions of those who gave.

"As custodians of the Lord's resources, we must maintain the highest standards of accountability. Every contribution made by God's people should be used faithfully and for the purpose for which it was given," she emphasized.

With the annual camp meeting season approaching, Sister Faith urged all camp organizers, treasurers, and finance committees to exercise due diligence in the handling of camp offerings and expenditures. She encouraged proper planning, accurate record-keeping, and prudent financial management throughout the camping period.

She also observed that during camp meetings many members faithfully support camp offerings and other camp-related expenses but unintentionally overlook returning the Lord's tithe.

"The Lord's tithe is holy. While camp offerings are important in supporting the activities of the camp meeting, they should never replace or substitute the faithful return of tithe. Let us remain faithful in both our tithes and our offerings as acts of worship to God," she reminded members.

Sister Faith concluded by reaffirming the Treasury Department's commitment to serving the church with integrity, transparency, and excellence.

"The Treasury Office and my entire team remain fully committed to supporting our churches, pastors, and members as we continue advancing God's mission together. We are always ready to offer guidance and assistance in matters of financial stewardship."

She concluded by wishing all church members a spiritually enriching, peaceful, and prosperous 2026 camp meeting season, praying that God would bless every camper and every congregation as they gather to worship, fellowship, and grow in faith.
