Nyamira West Field Camp Meetings Receive Unprecedented Publicity and Participation
The 2026 Camp Meeting season in Nyamira West Field (NWF) has been described as one of the most successful and widely publicized camp meeting seasons in the history of the Field.
Unlike previous years, the 2026 camp meetings received unprecedented publicity through various communication platforms. From professionally designed theme posters and publicity materials to the introduction of speakers, music programs, live streaming and social media appearances, the camp meetings remained highly visible both within the church and beyond.
The publicity ensured that members were kept informed about camp meeting activities while also providing an opportunity for the wider community to learn about the church's programs.
“Obey and Live or Disobey and Perish: The Choice Is Yours”
The camp meetings were conducted under the theme:
“Obey and Live or Disobey and Perish: The Choice Is Yours.”
The theme was widely shared through posters, announcements, sermons, social media platforms and other communication channels. It became a central message throughout the camp meeting season, reminding members and visitors that choices have consequences and encouraging them to choose obedience to God.
Children Ministries Receives Outstanding Social Media Coverage
The Children Ministries Department, headed by Pr. Dr. Gladys Kebaso, received particularly high visibility on social media during the camp meeting season.
The department's activities generated significant attention and engagement online, highlighting the active participation of
children and teachers across the Field. The coverage demonstrated how social media can be effectively used to tell the story of the church and showcase its ministry activities to a wider audience.
Field President Leads Leaders in Camp Meeting Visits
Despite his busy schedule, Nyamira West Field President, Pr. Dr. Thomas Nyakundi, actively participated in the camp meetings and, together with other Field leaders, visited almost half of the camp meeting centres during the season.
His presence at the various centres encouraged camp organizers, speakers and members and demonstrated the commitment of Field leadership to supporting ministry at the grassroots.
For much of the camp meeting season, the NWF offices were virtually deserted as administrators and workers left their offices to participate in the camp meetings as guest speakers, organizers, coordinators and listeners.
Communication Director Applauds Publicity Efforts
The Nyamira West Field Communication Director, Pr. Stephen Okero, expressed excitement over the remarkable publicity that the 2026 camp meetings received.
He described the increased visibility as a significant achievement for the Field's communication ministry and thanked the pastors and local church communication directors who worked tirelessly to publicize the camp meetings through posters, announcements, photography, social media, livestreaming and other communication platforms.
Pr. Okero noted that effective communication has become an important part of modern evangelism and that the church should continue using available technologies to tell its story, promote its programs and proclaim the Gospel.
However, he cautioned church members against using communication platforms to negatively publicize the church, particularly when they are disgruntled or dissatisfied with a particular issue.
He encouraged members to handle disagreements and concerns responsibly, emphasizing that personal frustrations should not become a reason to damage the reputation or mission of the church through negative publicity.
“We must learn to use communication to build the church, promote its mission and bring people closer to Christ, rather than using it to create division or discourage others,” he emphasized.
He called upon communication directors and church members to remain responsible, factual and Christ-centered whenever they communicate about church matters.
President Thanks Organizers, Speakers and Supporters
At the conclusion of the camp meetings, Pr. Dr. Thomas Nyakundi thanked all the organizers, speakers and listeners who contributed to the success of the season.
He also expressed appreciation to the donors and well-wishers, including political leaders who supported the camp meetings materially and financially. Their contributions helped many centres conduct successful programs in a conducive environment.
“The Most Peaceful Camp Meeting Season”
Pr. John Saota, the Camp Meeting Coordinator, described the 2026 season as one of the most peaceful camp meeting seasons ever experienced in Nyamira West Field.
He thanked all the camp meeting speakers for accepting their assignments and faithfully serving the various centres. He also wished them well as they return to their respective assignments following the camp meeting season.
From Camp Meetings to OneVoice27
With the conclusion of the 2026 Camp Meeting season, Nyamira West Field is now turning its attention to the OneVoice27 movement.
The movement will become a major focus of the church's mission and communication activities as the Field prepares for the global launch on 5 September 2026 in local churches.
Pr. Stephen Okero has called upon all faithful members to take an active role in publicizing the OneVoice27 mission through the church's major communication platforms and social media channels.
He encouraged members to familiarize themselves with the initiative, share accurate information and use available communication technologies to help advance the mission.
As the curtains come down on the 2026 Camp Meeting season, Nyamira West Field celebrates a season characterized by unprecedented publicity, active leadership, peaceful gatherings, strong participation and renewed commitment to mission.
The Field now looks forward to carrying the same spirit of unity, communication and mission into the OneVoice27 movement—one voice, one mission, reaching all.
